Boeing Fined by FAA Amid Safety Violations and Broader Regulatory Scrutiny
Boeing (NYSE:BA) has been fined by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for safety violations linked to a prior Alaska Airlines midair emergency. The fine is tied to a series of safety issues, including matters connected to the door-plug emergency.
The FAA penalty is not the only challenge Boeing faces as it continues to ramp up production of its narrow-body jet family. The company has signaled plans to lift its build rate further as it works through a sprawling order backlog spanning airframes across passenger and freighter configurations.
Boeing's defense, space and security segment continues to service military and government clients, while its global services arm supports maintenance, training and parts logistics for carriers worldwide. The company has also delivered the final trio of mPOWER satellites to SES, a milestone for its space and communications unit that has worked for years to complete the constellation supporting global connectivity services.
