Boeing Invests in Future Workforce through Partnership with Charleston Schools
Boeing has partnered with Charleston County School District to offer students career exploration opportunities in advanced manufacturing. The partnership, which is entering its second year, aims to give students a chance to try out different careers before they go into college.
The company has invested $100,000 in the program, which includes school field trips and camps. Boeing's goal is to get students excited about potential career paths and provide them with hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing roles.
According to Chad Vail, work-based learning partnerships coordinator for Charleston County School District, the partnership is focused on discovery. 'What we want to have our kids have is the awareness to discover what their talent is in demand,' he said.
The program targets middle and high school students who are interested in exploring different career fields. Students can participate in field trips to Boeing's facilities and gain experience in mechatronics, robotics, and other advanced manufacturing roles.
