Boeing lands $14.7 billion contract to boost PAC-3 seeker production
Boeing has secured a substantial contract to accelerate the production of PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) seekers. The agreement, valued at approximately $14.7 billion, was awarded by Lockheed Martin and formalizes a seven-year framework aimed at tripling the output of these advanced seekers.
The increased production supports the Pentagon's Acquisition Transformation Strategy and bolsters the U.S. Arsenal of Freedom. Boeing's seekers are integral to the Patriot interceptors, enabling them to identify, track, and engage a range of threats, including hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles.
Steve Parker, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, emphasized the company's commitment to quality and execution. He noted that early investments and a focus on quality have positioned Boeing to deliver seekers at unprecedented levels. The contract is expected to create hundreds of jobs in the Huntsville, Alabama, area.
Boeing has also invested in expanding its PAC-3 seeker factory, strengthening supplier relationships, and modernizing facilities with cutting-edge technology. These efforts aim to create a more agile, affordable, resilient, and scalable supply chain.
