Boeing Lands $14.7 Billion Deal for PAC-3 MSE Seeker Production
Boeing has secured a $14.7 billion contract from Lockheed Martin to significantly increase production of seekers for the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptor. The seven-year agreement allows Boeing to triple its seeker output under a previous framework deal with the Department of War, signed in April 2026. The seekers are critical components that guide Patriot system interceptors against a range of threats, including aircraft, ballistic missiles, and hypersonic weapons.
To meet the increased demand, Boeing has invested in expanding its PAC-3 seeker factory and strengthening its supply chain. The company has also upgraded its facilities with new technology and improved processes to ensure quality. Production and hiring have already begun following the announcement of the framework agreement earlier in 2026.
The contract aligns with the Department of War's priorities, supporting the Arsenal of Freedom initiative and the Acquisition Transformation Strategy. These efforts aim to accelerate the deployment of critical capabilities to service members. Steve Parker, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, highlighted the company's commitment to protecting U.S. and allied forces, civilians, and infrastructure worldwide.
