Boeing Lands $20B Contract for Navy's Futuristic Fighter Aircraft

Boeing has secured a major contract worth more than $20 billion to build the U.S. Navy's next-generation fighter aircraft, dubbed F/A-XX.

The deal follows years of secretive competition and false alarms about award timelines.

The sixth-generation aircraft will replace the Super Hornet fleet, which has been widely used across the Middle East.

Boeing bested Northrop Grumman in the contract bid, with Lockheed Martin having been previously eliminated from consideration.
