Boeing Lands $20B Contract for US Navy's Next-Gen Fighter
The US Navy has awarded Boeing a massive contract worth more than $20 billion for the development of its sixth-generation F/A-XX strike fighter, a key component of the Next Generation Air Dominance program.
The contract will cover multiple test aircraft used for various purposes, including ground testing, airworthiness evaluations, systems testing, and weapons integration.
According to Michael P. Duffey, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, the F/A-XX is a critical element in maintaining air superiority and strengthening the US military's ability to operate in contested environments.
