Boeing has secured a major contract to produce its Joint Direct Attack Munition Long Range (JDAM LR) system, valued at USD75 million. The US Air Force awarded the company an Undefinitized Contract Action (UCA) in August 2026 to acquire JDAM-LR.

The new weapon, known as GBU-75, integrates a 500 lb JDAM ER with a Kratos Technical Directions Inc TDI-J85 Spartan turbojet. This combination can generate 1.5 kW from a relatively small package.

According to Boeing, the contract follows a nearly USD100 million investment into the programme and clears it for initial productions of PDUs for the US Navy.
