Boeing Lands Huge Contract, Lockheed Martin Set to Benefit

While some might think that this contract win is solely a victory for Boeing, Lockheed Martin investors should also take notice. This is because Lockheed Martin produces the F-16, a fourth-generation fighter jet, which is still valuable and worth upgrading. The company has already secured $438 million for an upgrade cycle of 48 F-16 jets.
Lockheed Martin's focus on defense contract procurement makes it a safer bet compared to Boeing, which struggles with commercial aircraft demand and upgrade trends. However, Lockheed Martin's involvement in the production of fifth-generation fighter jets, such as the F-35 Lightning, positions them well for future growth.
