Boeing's defense business is continuing its momentum with a major contract win. On October 1, 2026, the company announced that it had secured an order for four additional MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters, bringing the total number of aircraft under contract to 42.

The latest award marks the first full-rate production order for the MH-139A program and follows the U.S. Air Force's declaration of initial operational capability earlier this year.

Kathleen Jolivette, vice president and general manager of Vertical Lift Programs at Boeing Defense, Space & Security, stated that the milestone validates key readiness levels for the Grey Wolf and supports the Air Force's plans for strategic missile fields.

The MH-139A is a multi-mission helicopter designed for roles including patrol, search and rescue, and troop and cargo transport. It is based on Leonardo Helicopters' AW139 platform and has been configured by Boeing with military-specific equipment.
