Boeing Presents New Contract Offer to Engineers Union

Boeing has submitted a new contract proposal to its union representing about 17,000 engineers and technical staff in its commercial airplane division. The offer was met with a positive response from the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) negotiating team.

The current SPEEA contract is set to expire on October 6, raising concerns that a potential strike could impact key aircraft certification efforts. Boeing's operations are already facing challenges due to years-long delays in certifying its 737 MAX 10 and 777-9 aircraft models.

The new proposal offers 'real and meaningful value' to the union membership, according to the SPEEA negotiating team. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but Boeing has indicated that it aims to improve work-life balance for its employees.
