Boeing Presses Suppliers on Automation Push

Boeing has called on its suppliers to adopt more automation in their manufacturing processes as the company works to boost jet production and overcome persistent bottlenecks. The aerospace giant's Chief Technology Officer, Lane Ballard, made the plea at an industry event this week.

Ballard emphasized that aerospace manufacturing needs to produce three key things: high-quality products, efficient production processes, and a reduced environmental impact.

The push for automation is part of Boeing's broader effort to increase jet production, which has been hindered by manufacturing bottlenecks. The company hopes that greater automation will help it meet growing demand for new aircraft.
