Boeing Reverses Flight Software Update Amid Operator Concerns

Boeing is taking steps to address concerns about its latest flight management system (FMS) software on the 737 MAX. The issue, which affects missed approaches when pilots change published arrival procedures, has operators refusing to use the software update.

The company is rolling back FMS Update 14 (U14), a move aimed at keeping deliveries of the 737 MAX flowing while it works to resolve the problem.

Boeing's decision comes as the manufacturer continues to deliver aircraft despite ongoing issues with the MAX, which was grounded for nearly two years following a series of fatal crashes.
