Boeing Scores Ethiopian Airlines Order for Next-Gen Freighter Fleet
Boeing has secured an order for eight of its upcoming 777-8F aircraft and two additional 777F freighters from Ethiopian Airlines.
The agreement was signed on September 20, 2026, between the airline's CEO, Mesfin Tasew, and Boeing Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Brad McMullen.
As part of the contract, Ethiopian Airlines has an option to purchase a further eight next-generation 777-8Fs in the future.
The two 777F freighters are scheduled to be delivered between 2027 and 2028, while the 777-8Fs will arrive between 2033 and 2035. The 777-8F is not expected to enter service until around 2029.
