Boeing has secured its first full-rate production contract for four MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters, marking a significant milestone in replacing the aging UH-1N Huey fleet. This transition is part of the ongoing modernization effort aimed at providing security for critical domestic military installations.

The recent award expands on the 42 MH-139A aircraft already under contract, with 27 helicopters having been delivered to date. The new aircraft are based on the commercial Leonardo AW139 platform and offer substantial improvements over their predecessors.

With double the range, 50 percent greater speed, and a significantly larger payload capacity, the upgraded airframe enables crews to respond faster across vast geographic areas while patrolling critical intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) silos scattered across remote regions.
