Boeing Secures Major Win With Turkish Airlines 737 MAX Order
Boeing has finally secured an order for up to 150 737 MAX aircraft from Turkish Airlines, marking a major win for both parties. The deal, which was signed in New York on September 23, 2026, includes a firm commitment for 100 737-8s and options on 50 more.
The negotiations between Boeing and Turkish Airlines took over a year to conclude, with the sticking point being the engine supplier CFM International. Turkish Airlines pushed for better terms on pricing and maintenance, as well as a greater role in supporting its growing fleet of LEAP-powered aircraft.
Boeing had little control over the negotiations, which sat between the airline and its engine supplier. However, the manufacturer has secured a firm order for 100 aircraft that could have easily gone to Airbus.
