Boeing Secures Record-Breaking Order with Korean Air
Boeing and Korean Air have finalized an order for 103 aircraft in what is the airline's largest-ever purchase from the US planemaker. The order comprises 20 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, 25 787-10 Dreamliners, 50 737-10 jets, and eight 777-8 Freighters.
The deal covers both widebody and single-aisle aircraft, giving Korean Air additional capacity across its passenger operations. The order was formally commemorated at an event in Seoul attended by Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope and senior government officials, including US Ambassador to South Korea Michelle Steel and South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources Kim Jung-kwan.
Boeing described the agreement as an outcome of bilateral trade negotiations between the United States and South Korea. The order also includes eight 777-8 Freighters, adding to Korean Air's cargo fleet as the carrier continues to invest in both passenger and freight operations.
