Boeing Sees Progress in China Order Talks

China is moving forward on its commitment to buy 200 Boeing jets announced in May. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer confirmed progress, but gave no indication of additional orders. The 140 planes already ordered are in a 'good state,' while another 10 are being written down as part of the deal.

The initial order was made by China in May, marking Boeing's first major Chinese deal in nearly a decade. In that month, US President Donald Trump said China could boost its Boeing order to up to 750 planes. However, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg recently played down expectations for another large order around the upcoming Trump-Xi talks.
