Boeing Slammed with $3.1 Million Fine over Safety Violations
Boeing has paid a $3.1 million fine to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) over safety violations at its manufacturing facilities in Renton, Washington and Wichita, Kansas.
The fines were related to issues that occurred between September 2023 and February 2024, including hundreds of violations at Boeing's 737 production facility in Renton and the 737-fuselage factory operated by Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita.
According to the FAA, Boeing presented two aircraft that were not airworthy for certification, and pressured a worker performing duties on behalf of the FAA to approve a 737 MAX despite it not meeting regulatory standards.
