Boeing Slashes 737 MAX 10 Prices by Up to 60% Amid FAA Certification Delay

Boeing is offering significant discounts on its 737 MAX 10 aircraft, with transaction prices falling between 40% to 60% below list price. Despite not yet receiving certification from the FAA, over 1,400 firm orders have been placed by major carriers and leasing firms.

Airlines such as United Airlines and Ryanair are among those who have ordered large quantities of the aircraft, with United placing orders for 165 units and Ryanair for 131. These bulk orders likely secured the deepest discounts, which bring the price down to between $55 million to $75 million per unit.

The list price of the 737 MAX 10 was $134.9 million in 2019. Boeing completed final test flights for the aircraft, but certification from the FAA remains pending. Airlines may renegotiate or shift orders if delivery delays persist.
