Boeing Stabilizing 737 MAX Production at Slower Than Expected Rate

Boeing's production of its 737 MAX aircraft is taking longer to stabilize than expected at a rate of 47 jets per month, according to CEO Kelly Ortberg.

The share price of Boeing dropped by about 2.5% immediately after his comments on Wednesday, and was down 4.5% for the day overall.

Ortberg stated that once production is stabilized at this rate, Boeing will aim to increase output to 52 jets per month.

The certification of the largest variant of the 737 MAX, the 737-10, is several years behind schedule and is expected to be completed 'very soon', according to Ortberg.
