Boeing Stock Edges Higher After FAA Postpones MAX 10 Certification
Boeing stock rose in premarket trading on Tuesday after falling by 6.91% on Monday due to concerns over a software issue affecting some of its 737 MAX aircraft.
The issue, which could cause an automated navigation tool to fail under certain landing scenarios, has prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to postpone certification of Boeing's 737 MAX 10 until the problem is resolved.
Boeing notified operators and is developing a permanent software fix. The FAA said the issue could increase pilot workload during a go-around, when pilots abort a landing and climb for another approach.
The regulatory agency previously stated it would convene a Corrective Action Review Board to examine the issue, but two sources told Reuters that review is unlikely to begin before next week.
