Boeing Stock Soars as FAA Approves 737 MAX 7 and BNP Paribas Turns Bullish

Boeing shares experienced their biggest jump in years on August 3, 2026, increasing by as much as 7.4% to around $232.

The approval of the FAA for the 737 MAX 7 was a major catalyst for this surge, removing a long-standing regulatory cloud that had been weighing on the company since 2018.

Additionally, BNP Paribas, the last major Wall Street analyst still bearish on Boeing, upgraded the stock from Sell to Buy, citing improved free cash flow and reduced debt as key drivers of their decision.

The FAA's approval of the MAX 7 was the result of a nearly decade-long review process that included over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing, which ultimately revealed several technical issues that had to be addressed.
