Boeing Storms Farnborough With Record-Breaking Aircraft Orders
Boeing dominated the Farnborough International Airshow with an impressive 173 aircraft orders. The aerospace company surpassed Airbus, which received 154 jet orders.
The majority of Boeing's orders came from SMBC Aviation Capital, which ordered 100 737 MAX airplanes, including 60 737-10 and 40 737-8 jets.
Riyadh Air also made significant commitments to Boeing, exercising options for 28 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and converting 20 of those aircraft to the larger 787-10 variant. Philippine Air placed an order for up to 20 787-10 Dreamliner widebody twin jets.
On the defense side, Boeing's MQ-28 Ghost Bat made its Farnborough debut. The uncrewed aircraft recently participated in exercises in the Western Pacific alongside crewed coalition jets and provided surveillance and electronic warfare assistance to crewed jet missions.
