Boeing Submits Revised Proposal to PIA Amid Ongoing Restructuring
Boeing has announced plans to submit a revised proposal to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for the purchase of new aircraft. This decision comes after a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Boeing President Dr Brendan Nelson.
The high-level meeting included discussions on the acquisition of new aircraft, technical support, and potential financial assistance from the US Export-Import Bank. Boeing has agreed to provide PIA with a revised proposal for the purchase of new planes.
The two parties also explored options for early delivery of new aircraft as well as interim leasing arrangements until the new planes are delivered. Additionally, they discussed the urgent repair, maintenance, and operational restoration of grounded aircraft.
