Boeing Teams Up with Liebherr-Aerospace on 777-8 Freighter Electronics
Boeing has partnered with Liebherr-Aerospace to integrate electronic components on its 777-8 Freighter aircraft. The agreement involves the installation of Liebherr's brake remote electronic unit, which supports active brake monitoring systems and complies with FAA and EASA regulations.
The unit is designed for versatility and reliability in areas such as system and position control, data concentration, data monitoring, and data conversion. Liebherr first introduced its remote electronic unit concept in 2018, focusing on these key considerations.
Liebherr-Aerospace also supplies the nose wheel steering unit for the Boeing 787, demonstrating the company's extensive involvement with Boeing aircraft.
Dr. Klaus Schneider, Chief Technology Officer of Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that 'To be on board Boeing commercial airplanes with our electronic products is an important milestone for Liebherr.'
