Boeing Wins $14.7 Billion Contract for Patriot Missile Seekers
Boeing has secured a $14.7 billion contract for the production of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement interceptor seekers. The announcement, made on October 5, 2026, comes as part of a broader series of significant munitions contracts awarded by the Pentagon. The contract, described as an undefinitized contract action from Lockheed Martin, follows a seven-year framework agreement with the Pentagon announced earlier in April. Boeing had already begun expanding its PAC-3 seeker facility in Alabama and increasing production and hiring earlier this year, anticipating the contract.
Steve Parker, CEO of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, highlighted the company's early investment and focus on quality and execution. "Early investment and a relentless focus on quality and execution have positioned us to now deliver seekers at unprecedented levels in the near term, and we’re committed to building on that momentum," Parker stated. The contract is the latest in a string of high-value awards for munitions, which have seen extensive use in conflicts involving Iran, Ukraine, and Israel.
The U.S. Army had previously awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $58.6 billion for Patriot interceptor missiles in July. This contract converted a one-year deal into a new seven-year agreement. Other major contracts in the sector include a five-year deal worth up to $24.4 billion for Standard Missile-6 interceptors, awarded to RTX on October 1, and a $20.7 billion contract for AIM-120 missiles.
