Boeing wins $14.7 billion defense contract from Lockheed Martin
Boeing has secured a massive $14.7 billion contract from Lockheed Martin to scale up production of PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) seekers. The deal, announced on October 5, falls under a broader seven-year framework agreement with the U.S. Department of War, aimed at bolstering national defense capabilities. The contract allows Boeing to triple its production capacity, a move that began earlier this year with plans to hire hundreds of workers in the Huntsville area.
Steve Parker, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, expressed pride in the company’s role in protecting U.S. and allied forces. “Our Boeing teammates could not be prouder of the role they play in protecting U.S. and allied service members, civilians and critical infrastructure worldwide,” he stated. The contract is part of a larger trend, following recent defense deals for L3Harris and Torch Technologies, totaling $6 billion and $900 million, respectively.
