Boeing Wins $20 Billion Contract for Next-Generation F/A-XX Fighter

The U.S. Navy has chosen Boeing to develop and build its next-generation fighter aircraft, known as F/A-XX, under a contract valued at more than $20 billion.

This sixth-generation aircraft is designed to begin replacing the Navy's F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and EA-18G Growlers in the 2030s and will operate alongside the F-35C.

The program aims to provide greater operational reach and allow for the integration of unmanned aircraft as part of the Navy's future carrier air wing, with Boeing highlighting an open mission systems architecture intended to support future upgrades.
