Boeing Wins $20 Billion Contract for US Navy's Sixth-Generation Fighter

The US Navy has selected Boeing to build its sixth-generation F/A-XX fighter, beating out Northrop Grumman in late-stage negotiations. The contract, worth around $20 billion, will fund multiple test aircraft for testing and integration purposes.

This deal comes on the heels of Boeing's win with the Next Generation Air Dominance program, known as the F-47, for the US Air Force in 2025.

The new fighter, dubbed F/A-XX, is expected to replace the F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and EA-18G Growlers starting in the 2030s.
