Boeing Wins Massive $131B Contract to Modernize F-15 Fighter Jets
The U.S. Department of War has awarded Boeing a massive $131.23 billion contract to produce F-15 Eagle fighter jets, modernize existing ones, and provide maintenance services for various countries including Japan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.
The contract, which was a sole-source acquisition, provides for aircraft production, systems integration, modernization, upgrades, retrofits, sustainment, and the establishment of organic depot maintenance capabilities to deliver and maintain critical F-15 Eagle Weapon System capabilities for the Air Force, Air National Guard, and other Department of War customers.
The work will be performed at St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to be completed by August 2037. The ordering period is expected to end on August 24, 2031, with an option to extend the ordering period to August 24, 2036.
