Boeing Wins Multi-Billion-Dollar Contract for F/A-XX Aircraft
The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a multi-billion-dollar contract to produce its F/A-XX aircraft, which is set to revolutionize advancements in open mission systems architecture and operational reach and capacity.
The F/A-XX will replace the service's fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornets, with construction on Boeing's secure manufacturing facility already underway. The facility, located in St. Louis, will be part of the world's most advanced all-digital aerospace design and manufacturing system.
Boeing's president and CEO, Steve Parker, said it was an honor to be selected for the program, citing decades of work and investments in new facilities and technologies.
