Boeing Wins Multi-Billion Dollar Contract to Build Next Generation F/A-XX Fighter
The U.S. Navy has selected Boeing to design and build its next-generation F/A-XX fighter, which is intended to replace the service's fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornets.
Under the multi-billion-dollar contract, Boeing will create an aircraft that features advancements in open mission systems architecture, advanced mission systems, and operational reach and capacity. The company has already been working on similar technology for the U.S. Air Force's F-47 program, awarded to them in 2025.
Boeing's president and CEO of Defense, Space & Security, Steve Parker, said it was an honor to be selected for the project, which will be built at the company's new secure manufacturing facility in St. Louis. This facility is set to become one of the most advanced in the world.
