Boeing Wins Seven-Year Deal to Boost Production of US Navy Missile System
Boeing has secured a seven-year framework agreement to increase production of key components for the U.S. Navy's SM-3 missile system.
The deal, signed with the Department of War and Raytheon, covers avionics and ejector assemblies used on both Block IB and Block IIA interceptors.
Boeing vice president Bob Ciesla said the agreements provide clearer demand for higher SM-3 production, calling it an 'essential part' of layered missile defense.
The Pentagon is seeking to expand interceptor output as part of its broader effort to increase weapons production capacity. Boeing will now have a longer-term production horizon and work toward a multiyear procurement agreement with the government.
