Boeing Workers Union Urges Acceptance of New Contract Offer
The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) is encouraging its members to accept Boeing's latest contract proposal, which they will vote on starting September 24. The union has stated that the offer 'meets most of the needs of the members,' including a 10% guaranteed wage increase for all professional and technical unit-represented workers effective October 16.
The new contract also addresses concerns related to wage compression, provides additional funds for addressing these concerns, and includes other benefits such as revised language regarding work-from-home and overtime limits. The union has won 'gains for most priorities outlined at the outset of negotiations,' including market-leading compensation and benefits that matter.
Boeing presented its final proposal on September 11, following the conclusion of the latest round of negotiations. The contract will be put to a vote by members until October 4, after which the outcome is expected to be announced.
