Boeing's 737 MAX 7 Clears FAA Certification After Years of Delays

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has finally granted certification to Boeing's 737 MAX 7, a significant milestone for the planemaker after years of delays and scrutiny.

Boeing faced a more stringent certification process due to two fatal crashes of the MAX 8 in 2018 and 2019, as well as a mid-air cabin panel blowout on an Alaska Airlines MAX 9 in January 2024.

The FAA required Boeing to implement key improvements and address recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board, including updates to flight-control software and a redesigned engine anti-ice system.
