Boeing's 737 Max Software Glitch Could Delay Deliveries

A software malfunction in Boeing's 737 Max planes may increase pilot workload and cause delivery delays, according to the company.

The glitch can occur when a pilot needs to abort a landing attempt, forcing the autopilot into a simpler level of automation for pitch control.

This increases pilot workload compared to the standard mode used, which could lead to certification delays for Boeing's new 737 Max 10 and complicate the entry into service of the recently approved Max 7.

A permanent fix for the issue is originally slated for 2028, but Boeing is working to accelerate that.
