Boeing's 737 Max Software Glitch Sparks Certification Delay Fears
Boeing has identified a software glitch in its 737 Max jet's navigation system that could increase pilot workload during landing. The issue, which can occur when a pilot needs to abort a landing attempt, may delay the arrival of Boeing's latest narrowbody models.
The company informed all 737 operators about the software issue last month, sharing information that reinforced existing pilot procedures for safely handling such cases.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is convening a review board to determine whether the glitch presents a flight-safety issue. If it does, this could delay certification of Boeing's new 737 Max 10 and complicate the entry into service of the recently approved Max 7.
