Boeing's 777-9 Certification at Risk as Labor Talks Stall
Boeing's (NYSE: BA) 777-9 certification faces a fresh labor risk as contract talks resume Monday between the company and 17,000 engineers and technical workers. The talks are crucial because certification heavily depends on this technical workforce.
The first 777-9 delivery is now planned for 2027, seven years after the original target. Boeing recorded $8.4 billion in additional 777X reach-forward losses during 2024 and 2025.
Analysts remain constructive despite the labor issue, with a Buy consensus and an average target of $274.85, about 31% above Friday's late price of $209.82. The company traded down only 0.06% on low volume.
