Boeing's 777-9 Launch Delayed Due to GE9X Engine Issues

Boeing's plans to launch its 777-9 aircraft have hit a snag due to issues with its GE9X engines' mid-seal problem. The company aims for an 180-minute Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards (ETOPS) certification, but the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is waiting on Boeing to complete a fix certification plan before approving the ETOPS flight-test program.
