Boeing's B737 MAX Software Glitch Raises Concerns Over Safety

Boeing has identified a software glitch in its B737 MAX planes that could cause disengagement of the automated flight guidance system after a missed landing approach.

The issue was detected last month, and Boeing informed operators about it, recommending existing pilot procedures to handle such cases safely.

As a precautionary measure, Boeing has issued an advisory to operators to reset the system following a missed approach. This is to address the software issue, which affects around 96 B737 MAX planes operated by Air India Express (53 aircraft) and Akasa Air (43).

Akasa Air confirmed that there was no impact on the safety of its operations due to the glitch. However, it did not specify whether any of its planes were affected.
