Boeing's B737 MAX Software Issue Raises Safety Concerns
Boeing has detected a software issue in some of its B737 MAX planes that could result in disengagement of the automated flight guidance system after a missed landing approach. The aircraft manufacturer is working on a permanent solution and has issued an advisory to operators to reset the system following a missed approach as a precautionary measure.
The issue was reported by Boeing last month, and the company informed all 737 operators about it. The automated flight guidance system may disengage if the subsequent approach path differs from the one originally planned after a missed approach.
Air India Express and Akasa Air, which operate around 96 B737 MAX planes in India, have confirmed that they are working with Boeing to address the issue. While there is no immediate impact on safety, the airlines are closely coordinating with Boeing to ensure that their operations continue safely according to established procedures.
