Boeing's Korean Air Deal Won't Deliver Until 2030s
Boeing has secured a massive $36.2 billion commitment from Korean Air for the delivery of its aircraft, including the stretched 737 MAX, 787-10, and 777X in passenger and freighter variants.
This order is part of Boeing's record backlog of over 6,200 aircraft valued at $597 billion, which will take years to convert into reported results due to the timing of payments.
CFO Jay Malabe has stated that '10 billion' of annual free cash flow is 'very attainable' as the backlog converts.
The 737 MAX production ramp-up and certification of the 737-10 are crucial factors in determining whether deliveries will begin on schedule in the early 2030s, along with entry into service for the 777X.
