Boeing's Software Snag Hits 737 Max as FAA Weighs Fix

Boeing has identified a software glitch affecting certain landing procedures on some 737 Max aircraft. The issue, which was reported last month, may occur after a missed approach when pilots modify a preprogrammed flight path.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reviewing Boeing's proposed solutions to the problem and will take swift action if it determines any safety concerns.

According to Boeing, none of the Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft currently in use by U.S. airlines are equipped with the software linked to the glitch. However, Southwest Airlines, which operates a fleet exclusively comprised of Boeing 737 Max planes, acknowledged awareness of the issue and confirmed ongoing engagement with both Boeing and the FAA.
