Boeing's Trust Crisis Deepens with Latest Software Glitch
A software glitch has been discovered in Boeing's 737 MAX aircraft, reigniting concerns over safety and trust. The issue, which affects vertical navigation guidance during a 'go-around' maneuver, was allegedly known to Boeing since 2024 but only recently disclosed to the FAA and pilots.
Similar to the MCAS system, which caused two fatal crashes in 2018-2019, this software flaw raises questions about Boeing's corporate culture and transparency. While it may not pose an immediate safety risk, the lack of communication from Boeing is seen as a serious issue.
The glitch can be mitigated by reverting to an earlier version of the software, but the newer MAX 7 and MAX 10 models cannot be easily updated. Deliveries of these aircraft are likely to be delayed while the FAA reviews the situation.
