Bojangles Biscuit-Makers Rise to the Occasion in Semi-Finals
Every year, Bojangles hosts a biscuit-making contest to crown the top bakers. This time around, over a dozen competitors gathered at the company's Support Center in Charlotte for the semi-finals.
The rules were clear: make 47 scratch-baked biscuits as fast as possible while meeting exact shape and size specs. Judges would also be looking for that perfect golden-brown, buttered, flaky top and pillowy center.
Edith Chavez, a Bojangles biscuit-maker from Yadkinville, was among the top six contestants to advance to the finals. The local winner will join five others at Walt Disney World in Orlando this September for the final round of competition.
