Ventura County Loses Ground with Potential Departure of Economic Development Leader

Dr. Rick MacLennan, chancellor of the Ventura County Community College District, has been at the forefront of building relationships between colleges and regional organizations to boost economic development.

Matt Fienup, executive director of Cal Lutheran's Center for Economic Research and Forecasting, urges the district's Board of Trustees to reconsider their decision not to renew MacLennan's contract.

Fienup praises MacLennan's efforts in strengthening partnerships with businesses such as Amgen and Haas Automation, the Naval Base, county government, and chambers of commerce.
