Bombardier has introduced Clara, an agentic sales engineer powered by Agentforce, to revolutionize the sales process for its business aircraft. Clara enables sellers to perform complex technical calculations and model flight scenarios in seconds, replacing a process that previously took hours or even days. The tool can answer detailed questions about aircraft performance, such as passenger capacity and flight range under specific conditions, by analyzing factors like weather, runway conditions, and wind patterns.
Clara operates through a chat interface in Sales Cloud, Bombardier’s CRM, and can generate interactive 360-degree range maps to visualize flight capabilities. The system also answers specification questions and compares Bombardier models with competitors, citing approved technical sources. Sellers can request personalized emails based on the analysis, integrating CRM data for a tailored customer experience.
The development of Clara involved indexing over 500 technical documents and integrating operational data from Databricks. Range calculations trigger a workflow that validates inputs and models performance using data from Salesforce and Bombardier’s APIs. The results are rendered on Azure Maps, with each calculation and iteration saved for future reference.
Since its launch, Clara has achieved a 97% accuracy rate on complex technical calculations and reduced engineering work from hours to just 10-20 seconds. The tool has also received a perfect 5/5 user satisfaction score, demonstrating its effectiveness in keeping deals moving forward efficiently.
