Booker Sells Amazon Stock Amid E-commerce Giant's Growth
Senator Cory A. Booker of New Jersey recently disclosed that he sold between $100,001 and $250,000 in Amazon.com stock on August 11th. This sale was part of a larger transaction where Booker also sold shares of Netflix (NFLX), McDonald's (MCD), NVIDIA (NVDA), Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY), and JD.com.
The sale of Amazon.com shares comes as the company continues to experience growth, with its revenue up 19.6% on a year-over-year basis in its latest quarter. The e-commerce giant reported $5.75 earnings per share for the quarter, beating analysts' expectations by $3.93.
AWS, Amazon's cloud computing service, has been cited as a major driver of growth for the company. Analysts and market commentators have noted that AWS is experiencing its fastest growth in 18 quarters, and its ability to combine cloud AI services with Amazon's large e-commerce ecosystem has made it a key player in the AI trade.
