BoomCloud 360 Sues Tech Giants Over Patent Infringement
A California-based audio technology company, BoomCloud 360, has filed a complaint against Apple, Samsung, and Google with the US International Trade Commission (USITC). The company alleges that these tech giants have infringed on its patents for spatial-audio processing and speaker/crosstalk manipulation technology.
According to the commission's announcement, an investigation has been launched regarding 'certain electronic devices with certain audio technologies.' The complaint was received by USITC on August 14th. BoomCloud 360 is seeking a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders against Apple, Samsung, and Google.
The outcome of this investigation could have significant implications for the tech giants. If the commission finds in favor of BoomCloud 360, it could block imports and sales of certain devices in the US.
