Borderless Gaming Tool Adds DLSS 5 Support for PC Games
A tool called Borderless Gaming has added support for Nvidia's DLSS 5 technology, allowing users to enable neural rendering in various PC games without needing game-specific mods or DLL replacements.
The developer notes that this implementation is a workaround and not native DLSS 5 support, but it can work on a wide range of GPUs, including non-RTX 5000 models. An RTX 3090 can reportedly hit around 30fps with DLSS 5 turned on, although results may vary depending on the game and graphics settings.
The Borderless Gaming app itself doesn't come with DLSS 5 built-in, but users need to download the appropriate effect from GitHub after installing the tool. Reviews for the app have turned colorful, with some users expressing dissatisfaction with the addition of DLSS 5 support.
Nvidia's DLSS 5 was initially met with controversy, although its reception has warmed up since it went live in a game. It remains to be seen whether Nvidia will take action against projects like Borderless Gaming that tweak and play with DLSS 5 tech.
